Frequently Asked Questions about Padel Communities

What is the difference between a public and a private community?

The difference between a public and a private community lies in visibility and control over your member list. A public community is ideal for attracting new players at the club, while a private community provides a secure environment for a specific group curated by you as the administrator.

  • Public Community: Your events are visible to all players who follow the club location and meet your filters (such as skill level, age, or gender). This is the ultimate way to let your community grow organically.
  • Private Community: Only players you have explicitly added as members can see your events and sign up. This gives you 100% control over who shows up on your courts.
  • Control via Filters: For a public community you can set specific criteria for Padel2Day level, age, and gender, ensuring matches are always at the right level.
  • Always Flexible: You aren't locked in. You can switch your community from public to private (and vice versa) at any time via the settings in the admin dashboard.

Choose the format that fits your ambition and start building. Create your community in the Padel2Day app and decide for yourself whether to open your doors to the entire club or opt for an exclusive group!

Who are the padel communities on Padel2day intended for?

Padel Communities on Padel2day are designed for players who want to organize events independently at their favorite club. While professional providers use the Padel2day software for event management, this feature empowers every player to lead their own community. You organize events within one fixed location.

  • Location-bound Competition: Each community is linked to one specific padel club. This makes it the ideal tool for building a close-knit group of players at your own home base.
  • Ongoing Leaderboards: In addition to the results per individual event, the app generates an overarching leaderboard. This is perfect for a weekly "King of the Court," creating a true competition over a longer period.
  • Universal Padel2day Level: You play with your official ranking; community events use the exact same algorithm as professional events. This ensures your level is always a true reflection of your performance across the entire platform.
  • Manage it Your Way: Choose a private group for your regular circle of friends or a public community for everyone at the club.

Turn your casual matches into a serious competition at your club. Start your own Community today. Open the Padel2day app, choose your location, and let the leaderboard reveal who is the true champion of the court!

How do players join my community?

Growing your padel group at your local club is easy and depends on the type of community.

Private Communities

If you want to host exclusive matches, you have complete control over who joins.

  • Manual: You add players yourself directly through the admin dashboard.
  • Requirements: Players need an active Padel2Day account and must follow your specific padel location.
  • Instant Access: Once you add them, your exclusive events immediately show up on their personal homepage.

Public Communities

Want to expand your group and welcome new local players?

  • Event Sign-ups: Simply create and publish an event.
  • Location-Based Discovery: Players who follow your connected padel club can easily find your public activities.
  • Automatic Inclusion: As soon as a player registers for one of your events, they are automatically subscribed to your community and its chat group.

Once players are part of your group, they receive direct updates about your upcoming matches and activities via the app's messaging system.

Can I share my community and community events via WhatsApp?

While it is not possible to share a standalone community directly, you can easily promote it through your live events. As soon as a community event goes live, you can use the built-in 'WhatsApp promo' feature. This function automatically generates a text message—which you can fully customize—containing a direct link to the event and clear instructions on how players can become a member of your community.

  • WhatsApp Promo Feature: Once your community event is live, simply select the 'WhatsApp promo' option next to your event. The app will generate a ready-to-go invitation text. You can adapt this message to your liking before sharing it.
  • Access for Private Groups: Please note: for a private community, players can only sign up for the event via the shared link after you have manually approved or added them as members of the community.
  • Fast Start: Do you already have an existing WhatsApp group with padel friends? Use the promo feature on your very first event to instantly invite them and quickly fill your new Padel2day community.
  • Tip: Use this text to introduce your community: "Hi everyone! I've created a padel community in the Padel2day app for our matches at [Club Name]. This allows us to easily plan events, track results, and see who leads the ranking. Don't have a Padel2day account yet? Create one first at https://padel2day.com and then download the mobile app."

Bring your community to the immediate attention of your fellow players. Launch your first event, use the 'WhatsApp promo' button, and kickstart your group with a professional, ready-made invitation!

Can I start a community at any padel club?

In principle, you can start a community at any padel club. All you need to do is follow the specific location in the Padel2Day app. Once you follow a club, you can select it as the home base for your community and immediately start organizing your own events.

  • Search and Follow: Go to the location icon in the Padel2Day app, search for your club, and tap ‘follow’. Only locations you follow will appear in the selection list when you create a new community.
  • Location Not Found?: Is your club not on the list yet? Use the 'Add missing location' button in the search screen. We usually add the club to the platform and your profile within a few business days.
  • Direct Connection: As soon as the location is followed, you can get started building your community environment and inviting your first players.
  • Check the List: Does a followed club still not appear when creating a new community? In that case, the club has deactivated the option to start new communities.

Lay the foundation for your own competition. Find your club in the Padel2Day app, tap 'follow', and claim your role today as the organizer of the most active community at the club!

Can my community be active at multiple locations?

No, each community is intentionally linked to one specific location. This ensures that players only receive push notifications for events that are physically accessible to them. Want to organize at multiple spots? You can easily do so by starting a separate community for each desired padel club.

  • Relevance Over Reach: By separating communities per location, we prevent "notification fatigue." Players only get alerts for events at the club where they actually play.
  • Manage Multiple Groups: As an administrator, you aren't limited to one place; you can set up and manage a unique community environment for every club where you are active.
  • Targeted Communication: Each community has its own chat and automatic updates, ensuring interaction always remains relevant for that location's specific player group.

Does organizing leave you wanting more, and do you play at different clubs? Simply start an additional community for your other favorite location in the Padel2Day app!

Can I make multiple people administrators of my community?

Absolutely. It is even recommended to appoint extra administrators, ensuring someone is always available to start events. Within Padel2Day, we distinguish between one Owner and multiple Administrators, who have exactly the same rights in daily management to manage events, players, and settings.

  • Equal Rights: Just like the owner, administrators can create new events (such as Americano or King of the Court), edit details, manage players, and update general community information.
  • Owner Inviolability: To protect the community, the owner cannot be demoted or removed by other administrators; regular administrators can do this to each other.
  • Automatic Transfer: If the owner leaves the community, the longest-serving administrator automatically becomes the new owner to guarantee the group's continuity.
  • Safety Lock: As an owner, you can only leave an active community after you have promoted at least one other player to administrator. If the community is completely empty, it will be deleted immediately upon departure.

Make your organization more efficient by distributing tasks. Promote your most trusted players to administrator directly in the Padel2Day app and ensure your community events always run smoothly, even when you're not on the court yourself!

Can players pay for my events via Padel2Day?

No, at this moment, players cannot yet pay for community events directly via Padel2Day. This functionality is currently only available for events organized by official clubs and professional padel partners. For your own community, you can easily handle payments with your players yourself for the time being, for example via a payment link or in cash.

  • Clear Communication: When creating your event, always clearly state the price and the preferred payment method in the description, so participants know exactly what to expect.
  • Possible future integration: We are considering enabling payments for community events at a later stage.
  • Results & Ranking: The lack of an in-app payment method does not affect the enjoyment of the game; results and ranking points are processed by the algorithm as usual after the match.
What happens when event registration closes?

As soon as registration closes, Padel2Day compiles the final list of players and each player receives a push notification with the status: "You're playing" or "You're not playing." As the organizer, you will immediately receive an overview via email. This is the moment to finalize your court reservations at the club or cancel them in time.

  • Flexibility: As an administrator, when creating the event, you can specify how many hours before the start of the event registration closes.
  • Instant Clarity: Players immediately know their status through the automatic status update ("You're playing" or "You're not playing"), which saves you a lot of time on communication.
  • Mind the Minimum: Be critical of the set minimum number of players. If this lower limit is not met, the entire event is automatically canceled and no one will hit the court.
  • Please note: Even after registration has closed, players can still cancel. A replacement will then be automatically sought via the chat group.
  • Court Management in Your Hands: Padel2Day automates the player list, but you are personally responsible for physically reserving or canceling the courts at the club to avoid unnecessary costs.

Stay in control of your event and your courts. Check the participant list in your email or the Padel2Day app immediately after the deadline and ensure your reservations at the club perfectly match the number of players!

Can players still sign up after the event registration has closed?

Yes, as soon as a participant cancels their registration after the deadline, the spot immediately becomes available again. Padel2Day then automatically sends a push notification to the entire community. The first player to respond to this notification takes the spot.

  • Reach is Key: This system works best when your community is large enough. With a small group, the chances of a quick automatic 'match' are lower, so ensure a healthy influx of active members.
  • Ultimate Responsibility: Although Padel2Day automates the call-out, you as the administrator remain responsible for the attendance. If no volunteer emerges from the automatic call, you will need to take action yourself to fill the court.
  • Custom Payment: Because you handle payments yourself, you also determine the deal for the substitute. For example, you could agree that a last-minute replacement plays for free as a service to the other players.
  • Push Notifications: The success of this feature depends on your members' settings. Encourage them to turn on push notifications so they are immediately informed of an opportunity to step in.

Ensure a strong foundation and an active group. Build your community and stay in control so your events run smoothly, even with unexpected cancellations!

How and when can I start my padel event?

Exactly two hours before the scheduled start time of your event, the start button becomes visible in your community's management dashboard. As the organizer, this allows you to give the official starting signal for the first round of play.

  • Timing of the start button: The button automatically appears 2 hours before the start of the event. This gives you plenty of time to set everything up before the first players take to the court.
  • Administrator's turn: An event never starts automatically. The owner or one of the community's administrators must always manually press the start button to begin the event.
  • Attendance confirmation: By starting manually, you act as the final checkpoint. You confirm that the courts are available and the players are ready. Once you start, the court assignments become final and visible to all participants.

Just before the start of the event, it’s your moment. Open your community's management dashboard, press the start button, and let’s play!

How can I ban a player and why should I do that?

Sometimes it is necessary to protect the quality and atmosphere within your group. As an administrator, you have the option to 'ban' a player. This is a powerful tool that goes beyond simply removing someone; it is a digital access block that protects the reliability of your events.

  • Why use a ban?: The main reason is to maintain the joy of the game. Use the ban function, for example, for players who repeatedly fail to show up (no-shows) or who cancel at the very last minute. This prevents you as an administrator from constantly having to fill gaps in the schedule.
  • Protection for Public Communities: In a public community, a removed player can immediately click 'Join' again. A ban places the player on a blacklist, preventing them from opening the community or re-registering.
  • Immediate Cleanup: As soon as you execute the ban, the player is not only removed from the member list, but the system also immediately cancels their participation in all upcoming events and removes them from the group chats.
  • Access Control: If a banned player tries to rejoin, the system immediately blocks it with a notification that access is denied.
  • Not Permanent: A ban is not a life sentence. You can always 'unban' a player via the settings. If you manually invite and add a banned player yourself, the system recognizes this and the ban is automatically lifted.

Keep your community active and reliable for everyone who does enjoy playing. Use the ban function in your management dashboard to draw a clear line with players who repeatedly ignore the rules!

What is the Shuffle game format?

Padel Shuffle is an exceptionally fair game format where you play on one court with and against all three other players. You switch partners within the court until you have played with everyone. After each round, the court assignment changes based on your result, ensuring you always meet opponents of your skill level. You can play as many rounds as the venue's time allows.

  • Strength-based Seeding: At the start of the event, the system automatically assigns the courts based on player strength (level). This allows you to start immediately on a court with equivalent opponents.
  • 1-UP 1-DOWN System: After each round, the court assignment changes to keep the competition challenging. The winner (most games) moves up one court, the loser (fewest games) moves down one court, and the other two players remain where they are.
  • Fairness First: Because you form a team with every player on the court, the result is a pure reflection of your individual performance. It is the most transparent way to determine current form.
  • Fixed Structure: In the standard format, you play 12 games per round (3x4), with each player serving once per pairing. Variations like 3x7 or 3x8 are also possible, depending on the time.
  • Golden Point: To ensure all courts are finished at the same time for the 1-up 1-down switch, Shuffle is played with a golden point by default.

Do you want to organize an event where social interaction and sporting fairness are central? Choose the Shuffle variant when creating your next community event.

What is the Americano Individual game format?

Americano Individual is the ultimate 'everyone-with-everyone' game format and one of the most social padel formats. In this carousel setup, you play every round with a changing partner against changing opponents from your group. By the end of the event, you will (ideally) have stood on the court with and against almost every other participant.

  • Personal Success: Although you play in teams of two, you collect points individually. You are not dependent on a single fixed partner; your own performance across all different rounds determines your place in the final standings.
  • Every Point Counts: The scoring system is unique. You usually play a fixed number of points per round (for example, 24 or 32). If a match ends 18-14, both you and your partner receive 18 points added to your personal total score, and the opponents receive 14.
  • Maximum Variation: The Padel2Day system calculates the most optimal rotation. As a result, you are constantly playing in new combinations, which creates enormous social dynamics and a fair comparison of everyone's skill level.
  • Individual Ranking: After the final round, all points are added together. The player with the most points is crowned the winner of the Americano and, of course, rises in the community ranking.

Give your players the chance to get to know the whole group and prove their skills. Select 'Americano' when creating your event and let the app solve the complex puzzle of partner switches fully automatically!

What is the Americano Team game format?

Americano Team is the perfect choice for players who want to compete as a fixed duo. Unlike the individual variant, you do not switch partners; you form an inseparable pair throughout the entire event.

  • How to set it up?: When creating your event, choose the 'Americano' game format and simply check the 'Team event' box. The system then immediately knows that partners must stay together during the event.
  • Fixed Partners: This format is ideal for duos who want to train together for a tournament or for friends who want to see how they perform as a couple against the rest of the community.
  • Scoring: Just like in the individual Americano, every point scored counts directly towards the total standings. With a final score of, for example, 20-12, the winning team receives 20 points, and the losing team receives 12.
  • Team Ranking: At the end of the event, all points for the duo are added together. The team with the highest total score wins the event and rises in the community's team rankings.

Let duos join forces and discover which pair is the undisputed number one in your community. Check the 'Team event' box at your next Americano and start an exciting competition for fixed teams!

What is the Mexicano Individual game format?

Mexicano Individual is the "smart version" of the Americano. While Americano schedules are fixed in advance, Mexicano analyzes the standings after every round to determine the new court assignments. This ensures that as the event progresses, you play more frequently with and against people who have earned a similar number of points.

  • Dynamic Matchmaking: The system attempts to place the top four players from the standings on court 1, players ranked 5 through 8 on court 2, and so on. This results in incredibly exciting and well-balanced matches.
  • Individual Scoring: Similar to Americano, you play in rotating teams but collect points individually. Every game won or point scored is added directly to your personal total on the leaderboard.
  • Balanced Challenge: The greatest advantage of Mexicano is that skill gaps on the court close quickly. If you're winning, you'll immediately face tougher opponents. If you lose, the next round becomes a bit more manageable.
  • Every Point Counts: Because you often play to a fixed point total (such as 24 or 32), every rally matters until the final second, no matter who is ahead.

Do you want an event where the tension builds with every round and everyone is challenged at their specific level? Select 'Mexicano' and let the Padel2Day algorithms calculate the most competitive court assignments for you after every round!

What is the Mexicano Team game format?

Mexicano Team is the ultimate challenge for fixed duos who enjoy excitement and well-matched opponents. While in an Americano you know beforehand who you’re playing against, the Mexicano is a dynamic 'ladder' based on points: the better your team performs, the stronger the opponents you’ll face in the next round.

  • How to set it up?: When creating your event, choose the 'Mexicano' game format and check the 'Team event' checkbox. This tells the system that players stay together as a fixed pair and collect points as a duo.
  • Intelligent Matchmaking: After each round, the app looks at the standings. The numbers 1 and 2 on the ranking list will play against numbers 3 and 4 on court 1 in the next round. This naturally creates 'finals' at every level.
  • Fixed Partners: Unlike the individual variant, you do not switch partners. Together with your partner, you work towards the highest possible total score to claim the top spot in the community ranking.
  • Tension until the final rally: Because every point counts in the final tally (for example, in a 24 or 32 point format), every ball remains important. A small comeback can ensure that you move to a higher court in the next round.

Challenge the fixed pairs in your community and let the rankings speak. Check the 'Team event' box for your Mexicano and see which duo holds its own as the resistance increases each round!

What is the King of the Court Individual game format?

King of the Court (KOTC) Individual is the ultimate race to the top where everyone chases that one coveted spot: Court 1. It is a dynamic game format where winners promote and losers demote, but with an individual twist that requires you to step up with a different partner each round.

  • Climbing the Ladder: The goal is simple: end up on Court 1, the 'King’s Court'. Win on your court? Then you move up one court (towards Court 1). Lose? Then you drop down one court to redeem yourself there.
  • Individual Partner Swaps: Since this is the individual variant, you don't have a fixed partner. You play every round with a different partner from your current court. This means you must constantly adapt to a new playing style while trying to climb the ladder.
  • Speed and Time Pressure: KOTC is often played based on time instead of a fixed number of games. As soon as the buzzer sounds, the score is settled. If you're ahead, you pack your gear and move to a higher court for the next challenge.
  • Social Competition: It’s the perfect mix of competitive fire and social networking. You talk to and play with almost everyone in the community, while the hierarchy on the courts provides a healthy dose of rivalry.

Ready to see who the true heirs to the throne are in your group? Select 'King of the Court' in the app and let your players fight for their spot on Court 1!

What is the King of the Court Team game format?

King of the Court (KOTC) Team is the classic ladder variant for fixed duos, also commonly known as 'move-up move-down'. The goal is simple: win to promote to a higher court, with Court 1, the 'King’s Court', as the ultimate destination. Here, the winners stay, while the rest of the community chases their spot.

  • How to set it up?: Choose 'King of the Court' when creating your event and check the 'Team event' box. The system will ensure that duos remain inseparable throughout the event.
  • Move-up Move-down: The mechanism is tough but fair. Winners of a match move up one court (towards Court 1), while losers move down one court. This ensures you always face a team of your skill level.
  • Fixed Partners: Unlike the individual variant, you play with the same partner for the entire event. This is the way for fixed pairs to test their synchronized tactics under high pressure.

The Ultimate Winner: The team that wins the final round on Court 1 is the official 'King of the Court' of the day.

Bring the competition in your group to a boiling point and let duos battle for the throne. Check the 'Team event' box for your KOTC and prepare for an afternoon of quick transitions and exciting promotions!

Can I create unlimited community events for free?

Yes, your first 25 community events are entirely free. After that, hosting an event costs just 2 credits (equivalent to €2), which is deducted only from the specific admin who creates the event. If an event is canceled, those 2 credits are immediately refunded to that admin's balance.

  • Admin-Specific Billing: A padel community can have multiple admins for shared Participant Management, but the 2-credit fee is only debited from the account of the specific admin who creates the event.
  • Zero Financial Risk: Your credits are completely safe. Credits are automatically returned if the event is canceled by an admin in advance, or if the event fails to reach the minimum player count required at closing time.
  • Standardized Platform Credits: These organizer fees use the exact same Padel2Day credits that regular players purchase to join official club events, making it simple to manage your balance.
Can I add and remove players from my event myself?

Yes. As a community admin, you have full control over your Participant Management. Simply select your event within the Padel2Day community environment to instantly add or remove players from the players list. Note that you can only add players who are already registered members of your specific community.

  • Real-Time Control: Add or remove players seamlessly from your smartphone or PC right up until you start the event.
  • Fill Spots with Dummy Players: Check out our FAQ on "Dummy" players to see how you can use dummy profiles to quickly fill last-minute empty spots or manage one-off guests.
  • Instant Notifications: The system automatically updates the court lineup.

What are Dummy players?

Dummy players are flexible placeholder profiles in Padel2Day used by community admins to flawlessly streamline Participant Management. Accessible directly from the player addition screen, they let you instantly add players without an account, prevent event cancellations, or substitute injured participants mid-event without affecting official Padel2day levels.

  • Accurate Matchmaking: Dummy players are available for all skill levels. Selecting the correct level ensures the system places the placeholder on the right court.
  • Prevent Last-Minute Cancellations: If your Open Event is one player short of its minimum occupancy (e.g., 11 out of 12) right before registration closes, adding a dummy keeps the event active. This saves the match for the other players and buys you time to find a real substitute.
  • Injury Substitutions: If a participant gets injured mid-event, you can easily swap them out for a dummy using the Switch feature to keep the court moving.
  • Rankings Protection: To maintain data integrity, any match involving a dummy player is automatically ignored by the algorithm. Players on that court can choose how they want to play with 3 players without impacting their official level or Ranking Points.

Never let an empty slot or a sudden injury your event. Log into your Padel2day admin dashboard, master your community's lineup tools, and use dummy players to keep your events running seamlessly!

What can i do with the Switch function?

The Switch function in Padel2Day gives you real-time control over your court lineup during an active event. It allows you to instantly swap the positions of two active players across different courts, or seamlessly replace an injured player with a substitute to keep the games going without restarting.

  • Dynamic Participant Management: Swap players instantly between courts if a match setup needs an on-the-fly adjustment.
  • Instant Injury Substitutions: Replace an injured player with any registered community member present at the location, or use a dummy player, ensuring the group doesn't lose court time.
  • Fair Play Tracking: Lineup changes are instantly processed by the algorithm, protecting the integrity of individual points calculated after the switch.

Mastering the Switch function is an essential skill that every community host and admin must master for the smooth execution of events.
